Alex Lifeson discussed his decision to decline a performance opportunity at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show in an interview with Loudwire Nights.

“That whole thing that they’re doing this summer, Geddy and I were asked to be a part of it, and we had agreed to do it,” Lifeson said. “But other things came up, and sadly we had to back out of it.”

“It would have been a lot of fun,” he continued. “We enjoy playing with other people, and it gets Geddy and me together to do stuff, and all of that.”

Ozzy Osbourne is preparing for his final live performance. The show will feature various guest appearances from fellow musicians.

This decision reflects Lifeson’s current musical direction and commitments in his post-Rush career choices.

Antimusic reports that Lifeson prefers controlled performances and selective collaborations. He has moved away from extensive touring commitments.

The guitarist’s focus has shifted to his latest project. Rush Is A Band confirms his band Envy of None released their new album ‘Stygian Wavz’ on March 14th.

Blabbermouth notes that Lifeson remains interested in collaborating with Geddy Lee. Their joint appearances are carefully selected and limited to special occasions.

Ozzy’s invitation coincided with these ongoing commitments. This timing led to the difficult decision to decline the performance opportunity.
