Gary Holt, former Slayer guitarist and Exodus member, clarified his position regarding Slayer in a recent interview with Loudwire.

Holt addressed questions about potential Slayer plans by establishing clear boundaries between his roles in both bands. He emphasized his limited involvement in Slayer’s decision-making process.

“You get nothing out of me [about Slayer]. Part of the beauty of my years in Slayer was I had one job and that was just to go out and shred and rock and show up,” Holt said. “In Exodus, I have to wear a thousand different hats and with Slayer I wear none. I just plead the fifth to everything.”

The guitarist’s comments emerged amid ongoing speculation about Slayer’s future activities. He maintains his position of non-involvement in the band’s broader decisions.

His statement takes on added significance as Slayer prepares for upcoming activities that have energized the metal community.

Loudwire revealed Slayer’s plans to headline a massive stadium show on September 20, 2025, at Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania. This event marks the band’s sole U.S. East Coast performance for 2025.

Vinyl Me Please detailed the impressive supporting lineup. The show will feature performances by Knocked Loose, Suicidal Tendencies, Power Trip, and Cavalera.

Blabbermouth reported that Holt’s current band, Exodus, will join the event. The band plans to perform their historic debut album ‘Bonded By Blood’ in its entirety.

The arrangement creates a unique position for Holt at the upcoming show. It highlights the deep connections within the thrash metal community while reinforcing his distinct roles in both legendary bands.
