Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Credits The Kardashians For Keeping Him Away From Weed

Foo Fighters founder Dave Grohl, who’s known for his ‘clean’ life as a rockstar, talked about his experience smoking weed after a 25-year break which ended in a tragic way because of the show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians.’
As you may recall, last month, Foo Fighters released a new music video for ‘Chasing the Birds‘ which was featured in their latest album Medicine at Midnight that was released in February 2021. The music video can be described as trippy or psychedelic and it was released on April 20, in celebration of ‘weed day.’
Although he did release such a video on 4/20, Dave Grohl himself is apparently not a huge fan of weed. In an interview with Howard Stern, Grohl said that he’d smoked weed when he was younger but had stopped after suffering paranoid experiences, but he tried smoking again after a 25-year break.
He had hoped that it would cure his insomnia which initially it did, but after a couple of times, it went quite wrong. One night, when everyone was asleep, Dave rolled a joint and started smoking, and he came across The Kardashians. The show made him lose his mind and he started tripping.
During the interview, he said that he’ll never smoke weed again and suggested that in rehab centers, they should make patients smoke weed and then watch The Kardashians as that would definitely encourage people to never use drugs ever again.
Here’s what he said during the interview:
“I’m an insomniac – I don’t sleep a lot. We were recording in the desert for this record and there was a bonfire, a bottle of wine going around, and a ton of weed. I thought, ‘I might roll a little joint…’ and I slept for 8 hours. I thought, ‘This is the cure!'”
This is what he said about his later experience with weed:
“One night after everyone was asleep I smoked way too much, watched The Kardashians – and lost my mind.
I’m never smoking pot again. They should do that in rehab centres: get you super-fucking-high and make you watch The Kardashians. You’ll never take drugs again!”
