Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares recently opened up about the band’s current momentum and new vocalist Milo Silvestro. He addressed the band’s upcoming studio album and creative direction in a wide-ranging interview.

“Well, I think that Fear Factory’s riding on all cylinders,” Cazares said. “We’re a very tight unit. We have a record that’s gonna be coming out soon. We have a new single coming out in August, so I think people will be able to see and hear what we’ve been creating. Fear Factory, in the last three to four years, has been getting tighter, been getting better. Our live shows are killer.”

Cazares went on to highlight Silvestro’s versatility as a musician and the collaborative nature of their creative process.

“Milo is a talented musician. He’s a talented singer. He can play a lot of instruments — keyboards, drums, guitar, bass, vocals,” he continued. “But on this record, he mainly did — of course he did all the vocals, but we shared a lot of the same lyrics. So we wrote lyrics together.”

“It was good, creatively, to work with him, ’cause he’s a musician that understands all different aspects of the music and the instruments. So, creatively, it worked out great. He’s very familiar — ’cause Fear Factory’s one of his favorite bands, so he’s familiar with the classic elements of what makes Fear Factory.”

Cazares also emphasized how naturally Silvestro stepped into the band’s identity while still bringing something of his own.

“And so him, when he joined the band, he fit right in just like that,” he said. “Not only the style of vocals, but also the style of what makes a Fear Factory song. And, yeah, he fit right in and he definitely has his own elements as well, besides the classic Fear Factory style.”

The band’s new single is expected to arrive in August, ahead of the forthcoming album release.

The upcoming record marks a significant milestone for Fear Factory. It is the first full studio album to feature both Silvestro on vocals and Pete Webber on drums. Recording officially began on April 21, 2025, signaling the start of a new chapter for the band following years of lineup turbulence.

Cazares has described the new album as “brutal, modern, and melodic.” He confirmed he will be using 8-string guitars on the record — a choice that underscores the band’s intent to push their sound forward while staying rooted in the industrial metal identity that defined them. The album is expected to arrive in 2026, though a precise release date has not yet been confirmed.

The new material comes as Fear Factory simultaneously celebrates the 30th anniversary of Demanufacture, their landmark 1995 sophomore record. The band has been performing the album in full on their current tour, which includes dates across South America, Europe, and beyond. Demanufacture earned both Gold and Silver certification and is widely credited with redefining industrial metal in the 1990s.

Silvestro’s arrival followed the permanent departure of original vocalist Burton C. Bell. Rather than stepping back, Fear Factory pressed forward. Cazares has made clear that the new lineup is not simply a continuation, but a reinvention built on a shared understanding of what the band has always stood for.

The band has European tour dates scheduled for late August 2026, with shows in Poland, followed by UK dates in October. With a new single imminent, a full album on the horizon, and a live schedule that shows no signs of slowing down, Fear Factory appears to be entering one of the most active periods in their recent history.
