Former Sepultura guitarist Jairo ‘Tormentor’ Guedz recently addressed the possibility of making a guest appearance at the band’s final show, in an interview published by MetalSide.
The comments came after Sepultura announced their farewell concert, set to take place on November 7, 2026 at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo, Brazil. Guedz spoke openly about whether he would take the stage for the historic event.
“It would be an honor for me and a pleasure, sure,” Guedz said. “If you ask me, I don’t think Igor and Max will do it, anyway. But I think it will be a very good, very amazing and good party for the fans — I mean, this final gig in São Paulo.”
When asked about whether he had received a formal invitation, Guedz clarified that no official outreach had taken place, while leaving the door open.
“I didn’t receive any invitation officially — nobody asked me to do that — but we talk sometimes, I talk to Andreas sometimes, not too much, but we talk sometimes,” he continued. “And if he wants me to do that, and if I’m in Brazil, it will be my pleasure to do it, yeah, because it’s the end of a very beautiful history, Sepultura.”
The final show will mark the conclusion of Sepultura’s decades-long career. No official guest announcements have been made by the band at this time.
Guedz’s potential appearance would carry significant historical weight, given his role in the band’s earliest chapter. He was one of Sepultura’s founding members and part of the lineup that helped shape the band’s raw, early sound before the group rose to international prominence. Any reunion on the farewell stage would be a meaningful nod to where it all began.
The São Paulo concert is the culmination of a global farewell campaign officially titled “Celebrating Life Through Death.” As reported by Sepultura’s official website, the tour spans the band’s 40 years of existence and has taken them across multiple continents over the past 18 months.
The farewell run also includes a unique archival project. The band committed to recording 40 live tracks across 40 different cities throughout the tour, with plans to release the recordings as a large-scale compilation — a final document of the band’s live legacy, the band’s official website noted.
The North American leg of the tour was among the final stretches before the São Paulo finale. It was announced in early 2026. New Noise Magazine reported that the run began on April 29 in Montclair, NJ, at The Wellmont Theater, further building anticipation for the band’s ultimate send-off on home soil.
With the November date now confirmed, attention is turning to who might join the current lineup on stage in São Paulo. Guedz’s openness about a potential appearance adds to the speculation. The band has yet to confirm any special guests for what is set to be one of the most significant nights in Brazilian metal history.
