In a recent Instagram post, Killswitch Engage’s former lead singer Howard Jones revealed he is working on his debut album.
“Back in the studio, Recording a few different features and projects,” the rocker wrote in the caption, along with some photos from the studio. “After a lot of talk it’s finally happening. Starting work on my first solo album, stoked to have Josh Gilbert producing. More to come soon.”
Jones and Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz recently finished their debut album for their project, Burn Eternal. Jones shared a photo with Adam on Instagram and wrote, “Thai food lunch date! It’s been a busy year for us, but we finally have our album mixed.”
He continued, “Our schedules have caused this to take longer than expected, thanks for bearing with us. Back to work. We are Burn Eternal. See you soon.”
Adam told Ore Bihovsky on TotalRock’s Louder show how the project started, saying, “[Howard] just hit me up. He was, like, ‘Why don’t you write some music for me?’ And I was, like, ‘Sure.’ So yeah, we’re working on a record right now.”
“I think the entire record’s gonna take a little bit longer than expected. Because now I have to do double duty and record [the next] Killswitch [album] at the same time. So I’ll be doing that,” the guitarist also shared.
Jones joined Killswitch Engage in 2002 and was the lead singer until Jesse Leach returned in 2012. He also sings in Light the Torch, which was previously called Devil You Know.
The band included guitarist Francesco Artusato, drummer John Sankey, and bassist Ryan Wombacher. They released two albums, ‘The Beauty of Destruction’ and ‘They Bleed Red.’
