Olivia Vedder shared her reaction on working with Sean Penn in her recent Instagram post:

“To be even slightly involved in a film like this is one of the greatest honors of my life. Sean Penn, thank you for believing in me and these songs. Glen Hansard, thank you for giving me the gift of ‘My Father’s Daughter,’ I am forever grateful. This song means so much to me and has taken on a life of its own that I owe to you.

And my sister, Dylan Penn, I recorded this song after spending so much time with you this winter and after having all of our life conversations and all your big-sister advice you give me. Those conversations and time we spent truly made this song. The emotion I felt knowing I was singing this for you.

It’s out on August 20. Watch this film. You will cry and you will love Dylan 40000000 times more.”
