Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder has recently stirred excitement among fans with a post on Instagram that hints at a possible reunion with his ex-bandmate, Joe Walsh.
Sharing a throwback photo with Walsh, Felder reminisced about their good times together. The photo, captioned:
“Goofin’ around with Joe during a show. Not sure of the year or where but no matter what, we always had a good time! Photographer unknown.”
Fan Interaction Fuels Reunion Hopes
A fan comment under the rocker’s post said:
“The best duo, unfortunately, never to be seen together again. At least you have the memories and the pictures.”
Felder replied, signaling a potential reunion:
“Never say never.”
The Guitarist’s Past Efforts For Reconciliation
The Eagles’ history, especially the strained relationship between Felder, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey, is well-known. The band’s past includes heated arguments and even physical altercations, with Henley and Frey openly expressing their dislike for Felder.
Despite this, Felder, in a 2013 interview with Illinois Entertainer, appeared less bitter and more open to reconciliation. The musician expressed a deep desire to make peace with his former bandmates and revealed his condition for a potential reunion, noting:
“I wish I could do that [making peace] with those guys in the band, and I’ve tried numerous times to get there with them, but I just don’t think that’s who they are, and that’s not what they want. Unfortunately, until they decide they want to reach out with an olive branch or friendship offer or something, it’s just at a frozen stalemate.”
During a 2022 conversation with KSHE 95 radio, Don addressed another aspect of his career linked to his time with the Eagles. He confirmed that he continues to earn money from the band’s famous song’ Hotel California,’ which he helped write alongside Henley and Frey. Felder elaborated on the various sources of income he receives from the song, including royalties for writing, publishing, and record sales, as well as earnings from its airplay on radio and other platforms.
