Authorities revealed additional information about the suspect’s connection to the musician and the circumstances of the attack.

“The woman is known to Buckingham from past incidents, law enforcement sources said,” the report continued. “An arrest is expected soon, they added. Authorities said they believe the woman found out when and where Buckingham had an appointment and showed up at the location. Buckingham was not injured.”

The attack comes during a particularly active period in Buckingham’s musical career. He continues to work on new projects and potential collaborations.

Music Radar reported that Buckingham recently revealed he has been working on a new solo album for the past couple of years. He is just one song away from completing it. The 77-year-old musician has remained creatively active despite his departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018.

Buckingham has also hinted at the possibility of rekindling his musical partnership with former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Stevie Nicks in recent interviews. iHeartRadio noted that the artist shared he feels “very, very grounded” in his current musical endeavors. He suggested that collaboration opportunities may be emerging.

The timing of this stalking incident raises concerns about the security challenges faced by veteran musicians who maintain public profiles while pursuing ongoing creative projects. Buckingham’s continued visibility in the music industry, combined with his recent promotional activities for upcoming work, may have contributed to the suspect’s ability to track his movements and appointments.

The incident highlights ongoing security concerns for public figures. Police are actively pursuing the identified suspect while Buckingham continues his musical pursuits uninterrupted.
