Dolly Parton Won’t Be ‘Wasting’ The Rock Hall Induction

A rock album from the Queen of Country, Dolly Parton herself, is on the way. After her controversial induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Parton decided to take this incredible opportunity and run with it to make a rock record and collaborate with some of the biggest names in the rock scene. She recently spoke about her surprising decision while speaking to ET Canada.
“They wanted to induct me into the Hall of Fame, and I didn’t think I deserved it,” admitted the successful musician before explaining the motivation behind working on her upcoming rock album. “Then when they put me in any way, I thought, ‘Well, I’m going to not waste this time.’”
April came around, and she shifted her focus to recording a rock album, not letting this opportunity slip by. Parton added, “So I am actually doing a rock album of a lot of classic rock songs, and I’m going to have a lot of iconic singers and musicians join me on some of the songs.”
Dolly Parton is deep in her new venture in rock and is in the studio recording ‘Rock Star,’ which will be released next fall. The icon had disclosed that besides original material, she will include songs by Prince, the Rolling Stones, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Parton also mentioned that her forthcoming album will feature many rock musicians. It sounds like we are in for a treat!
