After her long-debated Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction, Dolly Parton decided to release a rock album to prove she deserved this spot. As it turns out, one of the artists she would like to work with on this album is Stevie Nicks. Speaking to Pollstar in a recent interview, Parton detailed her plans about collaborating with Nicks.
“I love Stevie Nicks,” stated Dolly Parton, expressing her admiration for the Fleetwood Mac singer. “I’m going to ask her to sing on my rock album, too.” When the interviewer called her and Nicks ‘two good witches,’ Parton said, “Well, I love her. I’ll tell her you said we were two good witches. With a ‘W,’ right? Not a ‘B?'”
“I love her persona,” Parton said, praising Stevie Nicks. “I love her songs. I love her voice; I just love her as people do! Somebody else I love like that is Lady Gaga. She is so talented, so gifted, and she knows exactly what she’s doing at all times! I really think she’s an incredible person as well.”
She continued, “And my Miley! I love women who know who they are, stand their ground, and live up to who they are in their own mind, as well as trying to stand up for what they believe and trying to be there for the people who are moved and inspired by them.”
In May 2022, Dolly Parton announced her plans to release a new rock album that features collaborations with famous rock artists. She then hinted that the album might be titled ‘Rock Star!’ As Parton said in a previous interview, she would also like to have the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger work with her on some songs.
