The Offspring’s Dexter Holland and Noodles recently sat down with Rock Sound for an interview and shared new details about the upcoming The Offspring album. During the interview, the interviewer pointed out to his earlier chat with Holland about new music back in May and asked where the band is on the new music now. Holland shared:
“We went backwards, actually. We’re trudging along. I feel optimistic we’re gonna have something out mid-next year.”
Discussing whether the band is on the mix-mastering stage or still in the demos, he revealed that the band is in a mixed situation. He continued:
“It’s a little bit more disorganized for us now. It’s not like we go in with ten songs and build them up in parallel. It’s kind of like we work on this one and then this one. So it’s more like we have half an album almost done.”
The band first dropped hints of the new album towards the end of last year while stating that the pandemic break energized the band and that they are ready to be back in the studio. The latest drop will be the band’s 11th studio album.
Since their latest collaboration with Lonelyboy for a Lofi version of their classic album, ‘Americana,’ the band hasn’t released any singles or new pieces of music yet.
