Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx is missing his stint with Sixx: A.M.

In two separate posts on X, the bassist shared his love and pride for the project. When a fan asked him what his favorite project has been so far, he responded, “Really loved Sixx: A.M.”

In another post three days later, he shared, “Listening down to some original demos from Sixx: A.M. There was a certain kinda magic right from the beginning. I’ll forever be proud of that project.”

In 2018, members James Michael and DJ Ashba announced that Sixx: A.M. was in an ‘indefinite hiatus.’ During this time, they started a new band called Pyromantic, but no music has been released under that name yet.

James Michael revealed the most stressful part of being in Sixx: A.M. in a chat. “The part that I found the most stressful and the most nightmare-inducing was when there were political differences within the band,” he revealed. “When Nikki and I weren’t getting along or when DJ and I weren’t getting along or when all of us weren’t getting along.”

He added, “That was the stuff that just killed me because we were all friends and I could just see the pressures of the industry making us all behave differently than I think we would have liked to behave. And that’s the part that I look back on with great regret.”

Though members made it clear several times that they would not be coming back or making new music since then, the band recorded four new songs and worked on a greatest hits album. In September of the same year, they released a song titled ‘Talk to Me,’ and a remix of ‘Maybe It’s Time’ in 2020. Next year, the band announced their ‘Hits’ album, featuring a new mix of ‘Talk to Me,’ three unreleased songs, and remixes of older tracks.

After releasing new material, Sixx clarified last year that Sixx: A.M. has retired.
