Def Leppard’s Phil Collen On Jamming With Mötley Crüe, ‘There Is No Time’

With less than a month remaining until the start of the long-awaited Stadium Tour featuring Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett, Phil Collen spoke about Mötley Crüe and their plans to share the stage during the tour.

Def Leppard is joining Mötley Crüe on the tour that they had scheduled before the pandemic in 2019. With the pandemic break, the tour was rescheduled to 2022 summer, and there is less than a month before the concerts begin. Mötley Crüe started rehearsing, and as far as their social media updates, the rehearsals are going well.

While Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard each share the same amount of stage time, Poison and Joan Jett have lesser time on stage to entertain fans. Even though Leppard and Crüe share the headline, the bands don’t have specific plans to jam together on stage. Collen stated that Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe would have 90 minutes to perform.

According to the guitarist, they usually finish around the curfew every night, which doesn’t leave them enough time to jam with Mötley Crüe. However, Collen still left the door open for a surprise live get-together with Crüe members since he thinks it would be ‘cool.’

Here is what Collen stated about their time:

“There’s no time. Us and Motley, we have 90 minutes each, right? And we usually finish within two or three seconds [of curfew] every night. We’re that consistent. So it throws a wrench in when it’s such a limited amount of time. But it could be cool. So you never know. We’ll see.”

In March 2022, Def Leppard announced the release of their new album on May 27. While they’re rehearsing, they’re under the excitement of giving their fans their new album. Mötley Crüe, on the other hand, is going to be performing their old and iconic songs. They had returned to performing after disbanding in 2015 and signing a contract that they wouldn’t perform anymore. However, they found a loophole in that contract and returned to touring after the release of their Netflix biopic ‘The Dirt’ and gained new fans.
