Dee Snider Says He Doesn’t Want To Be Like Mike Tyson As He Details His Non-Music Related Projects

Twisted Sister lead singer Dee Snider shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that he is not going to be performing on stage until he cannot like Mike Tyson or Babe Ruth who did what they were best at until they were not anymore in addition to stating that he’s doing so much more than just music.

As many of you know, those artists, sportsmen, musicians, who are the best at what they do according to many fans and critics tend to continue creating their art, performing, and competing until they are not even average at their profession anymore. Therefore, while some prefer to continue until they are not capable of doing what they do, some decide to step back and leave while they still a legend according to many people.

There are many examples of those who were an icon back when they were at the highest at their league, yet basically ruined their legacy due to the fact that they kept on going, and eventually, their image of being perfect goes away for many fans.

Recently, Dee Snider shared a post on his official Twitter page and revealed that he does not want to be one of those people like former professional boxer Mike Tyson or late professional baseball player Babe Ruth, implying that he is not going to perform unless he feels like he’s good enough to be on that stage.

Here is what Snider said:

“That’s my exact analogy! I don’t want to be like Mike Tyson on all fours looking for his mouthpiece or Babe Ruth traded to the Braves (?) and walking around the bases because he can no longer run. NEVER!!”

After his statement, his fans poured comments under his post stating that he should keep on performing since there are many examples of keeping the success going like legendary late musician B.B. King who performed even right before his death and thrilled his fans only even while he was sitting while performing.

Here is what a fan said:

“But you could stick around and be like BB King sitting in a chair while still making audiences happy.”

Since his fans sounded quite worried that Snider is going to retire sometime soon, he shared another post on Twitter stating that he’s still working on movies, books, tv shows, therefore, he’s not going anywhere soon, however, he’s not planning to be performing o stage until he cannot.

Here is what Snider said:

“I’m writing movies, books, involved in a couple of TV shows I helped create & directing my 1st movie (as soon as Covid eases up). I’m not going anywhere; just not going to be on stage to the bitter end. That said, I’ve got upcoming shows with Kings of Chaos Band & Rock Me Amadeus Live.”
