Disturbed’s frontman David Draiman has launched an attack on Roger Waters via a series of recent tweets following Waters’ controversial remarks about U2’s Bono and his support for Israel.
Waters made headlines with his comments in an interview with Al Jazeera. Waters criticized Bono’s tribute to the victims of the Hamas attack on the Supernova music festival, calling those who support Israel’s right to exist as ‘genocide-deniers.’ The bassist said:
“Anybody who knows Bono should go and pick him up by his ankles and shake him… until he stops being an enormous sh*t. We have to start saying to these people; your opinion is so disgusting and so degrading… Sticking up for the Zionist entity. What he did a couple of weeks ago in the Sphere in Las Vegas, singing about the Stars of David, was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Draiman Defends Bono Against Waters

In response to Waters’ criticism of Bono for his unequivocal support of Israel, Draiman didn’t hold back. He left a comment under this news on X, writing:
“Been thinking about doing the same to you, Roger Waters. It really bothers you that someone like Bono who has a real conscience and has real morality, speaks for our people, doesn’t it? You’re a cowardly, smug, entitled Antisemite.”
In a separate tweet, the Disturbed vocalist continued targeting Roger with the following words:
“Blatant Antisemitism knows no bounds.”
Not long ago, Draiman went further, sharing his own thoughts on Eurovision 2024 and defending Israel’s contestant, Eden Golan, against Waters’ call for a ban. Draiman posted a video of himself at a concert displaying a banner with a clear message against Hamas, directly challenging Waters’ views and reaffirming his support for Bono and Israel. Draiman’s tweet ended with the hashtag of a Jewish solidarity anthem, emphasizing his stance.
