Dave Grohl’s daughter, Violet, is reportedly working on her debut album.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Violet is focused on growing as an artist and making music. She’s also making good use of the studio time her dad gave her for her birthday.

Violet’s album isn’t something entirely new. Back in 2018, she started touring with Foo Fighters, singing backup vocals for her dad during some shows. She also performed at the 2022 tribute concerts for late drummer Taylor Hawkins, covering Jeff Buckley’s ‘Last Goodbye’ and ‘Grace,’ and The Zutons’ ‘Valerie.’

In January 2021, Dave called Violet an ‘incredibly talented musician.’ He also said that being her drummer was one of his life goals. At that time, he mentioned Violet was thinking about making a shoegaze album and that he wanted to play on it. It’s still unclear if Violet’s debut album will have a shoegaze sound or if her tastes have changed since then.

In September, Grohl revealed that he had become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside his marriage. He said he loved his wife and children and was doing everything he could to earn their trust and forgiveness. After the news, Foo Fighters canceled their scheduled shows.

The band currently has no live shows planned.
