Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth announced the cancellation of the band’s Panama show due to dangerous power issues at the venue. He shared the statement on Instagram.

The cancellation comes following recent departures from the band and subsequent public disputes. Filth addressed the technical problems that led to the show’s cancellation.

“Tonight Cradle Of Filth’s show in Panama is unfortunately cancelled due to the issue of dangerous power,” Filth said. “We tried last night to make the venue work (this venue has a history of similar problems) and the power blew out a bunch of microphones, caused the PA and monitor board to fluctuate between on and off and threatened to electrocute the band.”

The band made extensive efforts to resolve the technical issues before making the final decision.

“The promoter brought in a generator to bypass the issue and it still didn’t work by tonight, despite the crew working tirelessly all day to fix the problems,” he continued. “As a touring family we are all very upset that, despite all the work and moving flights to make this show happen in Panama, unfortunately the venue is just not up to safety standards and undertaking the show would be a danger to all.”

Filth concluded with an apology to fans and a promise to return. “We will endeavour to come back to your beautiful country just as humanly possible. Thank you for your understanding.”

This incident follows last week’s departure of Zoë M. Federoff and her husband, Marek ‘Ashok’ Šmerda, from the band. The departures led to public disputes between the former members and Filth.

The recent lineup changes reflect a broader pattern within Cradle of Filth’s history. The band has experienced numerous member departures over the years.

Chaoszine reported that Marek cited “years of unprofessional behavior” and described the band’s workload as “a lot of work for relatively low pay” that hindered their future. He also requested the removal of his compositions from upcoming releases, including an Ed Sheeran collaboration he no longer wished to be involved with.

Blabbermouth revealed that Dani Filth recently explained the band’s frequent lineup changes stem from the demanding nature of touring life. The demands include heavy commitment, mental strain, and extensive travel requirements. He emphasized that band members need to be versatile contributors beyond just musicianship. They must be actively involved in writing and promotional efforts as part of a close-knit “touring family.”

Despite the ongoing turmoil and member departures, the band continues moving forward with their upcoming projects. Metal Injection noted that Cradle of Filth is preparing to co-headline the 2025 “Chaos & Carnage” North American tour. They will also release their 14th studio album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, on March 21, 2025.

The band’s current lineup includes Filth alongside drummer Martin “Marthus” Skaroupka, bassist Daniel Firth, and guitarist Donny Burbage. This follows the recent departures of both Šmerda and Federoff from their respective roles as guitarist and keyboardist/vocalist.
