The video begins with Love explaining her decision to step back from social media temporarily. She then gives an update on the status of her record and the difficult health battle she faced behind the scenes.

“Hey, so I’m going to get off social media cause I got to do some analog stuff for a few weeks,” Courtney Love said. “A lot of you are asking where my record is at. It’s done. My record is done. It’s kind of been done. It’s a really good record. I put a lot into it.”

Love then went on to describe the serious health crisis she experienced in 2019, which she had kept private until now.

“I went to England in 2019 and when I went there… you know my body just exploded,” she continued. “It just exploded. And I was in hospitals a lot. I almost died. I lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was going to die. And I didn’t believe them. When they said, ‘You’re going to die,’ I just didn’t believe them. And somehow I got better. I’m healthy, which is amazing.”

She also reflected on a past professional setback while discussing her approach to rolling out the new project.

“In 2009, I put out a record. It flopped,” Love said. “Like playing a place called Pizza Hut Park at 11 a.m. while Limp Bizkit was headlining with 30 Seconds to Mars. That shit’s humbling. I’m just tapping in, figuring out how to roll this out. Things are great right now. … I just need to understand how to do this.”

Love closed the video with a direct message to her fans, asking for patience as she prepares to share more details.

“I will be back,” she said. “I just wasn’t public about being sick. I don’t want to be public. I’m fine now. Thank you for waiting. Just bear with me. Be a little more patient. Okay. That’s it. Thanks a lot.”

This project marks Love’s first solo album since 2004’s “America’s Sweetheart.” That timeline makes the story of her illness and recovery all the more significant to her return.

The 2019 illness she described dates back to the time when she relocated from Los Angeles to London. That move appears to have coincided with her health decline. Details of the specific diagnosis remain unclear. Still, the severity she described, hospitalizations, extreme weight loss, and a terminal prognosis from doctors, paints a picture of a health crisis far more serious than fans previously thought of.
