Chris Daughtry recently addressed why he was unable to attend David Draiman’s wedding. He provided insight into the circumstances surrounding the event as shared on Audacy Music.

When asked directly about his attendance at the wedding, Daughtry explained the timing conflict that prevented him from being there for the Disturbed frontman on his big day.

“No, funny enough, I was actually in the town they got married in on the day they got married doing a show,” Daughtry said. “So, it was the end of the tour and I couldn’t make it.”

The Daughtry frontman elaborated on the exhaustion that followed the extensive tour schedule. He noted that the priority after the final show was rest rather than celebration.

“The afterparty was going to bed. We all had early flights. We’ve been on tour for ever this year and all we wanted was to be done, you know, at the end of the night and I got home for 48 hours,” he continued.

Daughtry had been supporting Disturbed on tour at the time of Draiman’s wedding to his girlfriend Sarah Uli. This made the scheduling conflict unavoidable. Despite missing the celebration in person, Daughtry was among the musicians from the heavy music community who showed their support for the newlyweds.

Loudwire reported that David Draiman married Sarah Uli over the weekend of November 24-25, 2025, in an outdoor wedding ceremony. The couple’s journey to the altar began earlier in the year when Draiman proposed to Sarah onstage during a Disturbed show on May 9 in Sacramento. He paused between songs to bring her onstage for the romantic proposal.

Blunt Magazine noted that the wedding celebration marked a significant milestone for the Disturbed frontman. He had announced his engagement to Sarah Uli earlier in 2025. The couple’s relationship has been a source of joy for Draiman, and the timing of the wedding came just months after the public proposal that surprised fans and the heavy music community alike.

Despite the tour schedule preventing Daughtry from attending the ceremony in person, he joined other musicians from the heavy music community in congratulating the newlyweds. Loudwire documented that Chris Daughtry left a congratulatory message in the comment section of Draiman’s Instagram post announcing the marriage. This showed his support for his touring companion’s special day.

The conflicting schedules between the tour’s final show and the wedding highlight the demanding nature of extended touring in the music industry. While Daughtry was unable to celebrate with Draiman in person, his public congratulations demonstrated the camaraderie that exists within the heavy music community. Even when circumstances prevent artists from attending major life events, this bond remains strong.
