If you weren’t aware, Chad Kroeger is here to remind you that Nickelback’s a rock band. The guys played a game with SiriusXM in which they tried to guess their songs by listening to them backward. The second song in the game was ‘San Quentin’ from the band’s latest album ‘Get Rollin’,’ which led Kroeger to set the record straight about them as a band.

When the track played backward, Kroeger was the one to guess the song; he exclaimed, “That’s gotta be ‘San Quentin,’” and went on to explain Nickelback’s roots. “Well, we always like to remind everybody that we’re a rock band first and foremost, so there’s nothing like kicking the door down right off the bat, you know, coming in with a heavy rocker and getting the devil horns up right off the bat.”

He continued to explain the mood of the track, and he said, “It’s almost like ‘Burn it to the Ground’s little brother kind of thing, you know, it’s sort of that same vibe it’s got that ‘We’re going to go party, but we’re just really going to do everything we can not to wind up in the little silver bracelets’ vibe.”

Their track came in hot with lyrics that not only solidified their comeback with their ability to write songs that grab the attention of this generation in the rock scene but also made remarks against the justice system. The album is a true representative of the Nickelback that most fans have vibed with from the early days, so the entire album is no exception to their outspoken DNA.
