Former Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell shared insights about his artistic freedom in a recent interview with MaytheROCK bewithyou.
“There’s a lot of freedom, artistic freedom. I’m also an independent artist, so there’s the freedom of releasing the music I want to release, choosing the songs I want to do, and making sure it sounds exactly the way I wanted to sound,” Bell said.
“It’s all on me. I have no one else to blame if things go south except myself. But I also have myself my own self to push forward and make things happen,” he continued.
“And I’m at the point in my life where I’m prepared now to make things happen on my own, independently. So that’s to me that’s the change,” Bell added.
His statement highlights his new journey as a solo artist after leaving Fear Factory.
Side-Line reported that Bell left Fear Factory in 2020. His departure stemmed from prolonged legal battles over the band’s name. These conflicts had created both financial and emotional strain for the vocalist.
Bell found a new creative outlet through Ascension of the Watchers. Loudwire covered the release of their album ‘Apocrypha’ in 2020. The project has provided Bell with a more nurturing artistic environment.
Metal Injection revealed that Bell has distanced himself from Fear Factory’s current activities. He expressed satisfaction with his decision to pursue an independent path.
Bell’s post-Fear Factory career centers on artistic integrity. He now focuses on creating music that aligns purely with his creative vision.
