Bulletboys’ Marq Torien Starts A New Project With Rob Trujillo

In a new interview with Metal Rules, Bulletboys frontman Marq Torien said that he has been working with Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo on a new project.

During the discussion, Torien detailed the project and explained what’s coming. He shared his admiration for the Metallica bassist and said:

“I’m working on a project right now. A huge, huge legend, his name is Robert Trujillo, and I, I know you know who he is from Metallica. He asked me to do a new project with him. So, we’re working on that right now. And we cut a track, and we got away probably the next couple weeks.”

In his words, it’s a ‘very funky’ project. The frontman continued:

“I’m just really excited about it. I’m really, really looking for it’s very, very funky. It’s very funk orientated. A little bit of punk rock. A little bit of R&B but very funky. And now RT’s playing in Infectious Grooves again. So, I’m going to go see him when I get back on the 27th, and I can’t wait to see him play. I just love it. And his son, I might give a shout-out to his son’s band, OTTTO. They’re one of my five favorite top bands right now.”

Torien’s Admiration For Metallica

This isn’t the first instance Torien spent time with a Metallica member. In a previous interview, the frontman reminisced about the time he hung out with the members of the band back in the 1980s. During this time, both Metallica and Bulletboys were on the rise on the California rock and metal scene. Torien told:

“I love James Hetfield. He was a big champion for the Bulletboys when we first started playing and would come to all of our shows when we played up north. He would come walking in, and he would hang with us, love on us, drink some whisky and beer with us and stay there through the whole show.”

More details about the project are to come.
