Bryan Adams recently spoke to The Sunday Times about his industry relationships and recalled a time he invited Amy Winehouse to spend Christmas at his villa on Mustique Island. Asked if he could help the late singer with her addiction problems, the singer explained:
“[I] tried to help her, but, you know, it’s got to come from within. I really don’t know what happened with Amy, and it is so sad because she was so, so talented, and I so admired her individuality massively. But did I make a difference? I don’t know.”
The Two’s Relationship

Adams and Winehouse’s friendship started when the 64-year-old artist took the ‘Back To Black’ singer’s photos for the Hear The World campaign in 2007.
After Winehouse’s death due to accidental alcohol poisoning in July 2011, Adams spoke about her on The Andrew Marr Show in 2014 by saying:
“She wrote her own songs, she had a unique voice, and she was a great personality. And I think she represents a type of person who exists here in London, and her music will live on forever. She was an interesting character, and she was very self-determined.”
The Late Singer’s Life In Film

Amy Winehouse’s life and struggles with addiction will be made into a biopic set for release in 2024. Created by StudioCanal, Focus Features, and Monumental Pictures, the film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and will star Marisa Abela.
