The heavy metal vocalist jokingly revealed his contribution to the band’s new record through a social media post featuring himself with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.

The post generated enthusiastic responses from fans of both bands. One Iron Maiden fan commented that the collaboration was an “epic crossover.”

Another fan expressed excitement about the unexpected pairing, calling the crossover “KILLER” while noting Dave Grohl’s presence in the photo.

This unexpected musical partnership comes at a significant time for the Foo Fighters. They are preparing for major releases and tour announcements that will define their 2026 activities.

VICE reported that the Foo Fighters announced their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, with an official release date of April 24, 2026. The band broke the news on February 19, marking another milestone in their extensive discography that spans over two decades.

Front of the Stage noted that the band has already released the explosive title track as the first single of 2026. This gives fans a taste of what to expect from the upcoming record. The album represents the band’s continued evolution and willingness to experiment with their sound.

The timing of Dickinson’s collaboration aligns perfectly with the band’s promotional activities. Maxim revealed that this marks the first release to feature contributions from their new lineup. The remaining eight tracks will be released on April 24, shortly before the Foo Fighters embark on their “Take Cover” world tour.

The upcoming tour will kick off on May 8 at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach. This provides fans with the opportunity to hear the new material live. This collaboration between Dickinson and the Foo Fighters adds an intriguing element to what promises to be one of the most anticipated rock albums of 2026.
