Recently, Brian May shared a post on his official Instagram page depicting the view from the Parker Probe which is somewhere between the Earth and the Sun in addition to expressing his enthusiasm about space by stating that the Universe is a beautiful place regardless.
“Here’s a flight of fancy! This is a stereo I just made tonight as a demo for what could possibly be a real-life stereoscopic panorama of our solar system viewed from the Parker Probe – which is currently somewhere between us and the Sun. Imagine yourself on that spacecraft. You’re close to the Sun, but looking back out towards all the planets – including our own planet Earth. In the spacecraft, there is no ‘Up’ or ‘Down’. You are lying in the plane of the Solar System, and the planets are lined up in a vast panorama that stretches up above your head. What an epic picture! Swipe to see the original photo and the explanation on the Johns Hopkins website – which I recommend visiting !! This stereo may be easier to view in IG ‘stories’ with the phone on its side. I’ll have a go at that – even though all sensible rock stars should be in bed! Cheers, all! Humanity may be under siege from a relentless enemy – but the Universe is still a beautiful place !!! Bri”
