In a recent interview with Rock Antenne, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix shared some bad news with his fans — no new music until the end of the year.
When the rocker was asked if fans can expect to see a new studio album this year, he responded, “Definitely. At some point next year, there will be a new record. Probably not — it won’t be till the end of the year at the soonest. But we’re really proud of the stuff that we’ve done. And I think the fans will be surprised. The fans that are coming to the shows are gonna be surprised at what we’re doing too. And so it’s gonna be a good time.”
“As we evolve the music and push things forward, you never know what’s gonna happen in the studio,” he added. “And I’ve gotta tell you, what happened in the studio this time around has been just exciting,” he added.
The band’s latest album ‘Ego Trip’ came out in 2023. While fans are going to have to wait for the new album, the band’s guitarist has shared some information about what they can expect to hear from it. “I would say that maybe the experience — well, definitely the experience was different, ’cause we kind of bounced around different producers, different studios, but I think the energy is the same. We’re still fired up about it,” Jerry Horton said in an interview with The Mistress Carrie Podcast.
“And the first song coming is — it’s a banger. It’s heavy, catchy — it sticks in your head, for sure. And the record is diverse, just like the last one. It’s experimental and it’s emotional, it’s dynamic. I think even though the experience was different, it has more in common with the last record than not,” he added.
Papa Roach is getting ready to go on their 2025 tour. The tour starts on January 23 in Frankfurt Am Main, Germany. The band will make stops in Poland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, and France before wrapping it up on February 9 in Liverpool, UK. They will then team up with Rise Against and special guest Underoath for the first North American legs of the ‘Rise Of The Roach’ tour in the spring and fall of 2025.
