Brian Welch took to Instagram and explained why Korn’s private jets don’t sit well with him.

“Traveling in style in Australia, but I prefer larger commercial planes,” the guitarist wrote in his post, sharing a video with the band’s jet. “On one of the dates, the Harsh wind threw this thing around in the sky like a toy.”

“This is why I hate small planes. The turbulence on those things would give me so much anxiety,” a user agreed with Welch in the comment section.

Another fan said, “Great thing about flying private jets is that you fly way higher than commercial airliners, which means significantly smoother flights!”

Korn headlined the Good Things Festival in Melbourne (December 6), Sydney (December 7), and Brisbane (December 8), with a big lineup including Sum 41, The Living End, Billy Corgan, and more.

Welch said earlier this year in an interview with Australia’s Everblack podcast that Korn is working hard on new songs with a classic Korn sound but with a modern touch. “Yeah, we got a lot of it [written]. We’re still working,” the musician talked about the new album after their 2022 record ‘Requiem.’

He added, “Dude, it’s a trip 30 years later, man, to try to keep doing it. And we’re very happy with what we got, but it’s just gonna take a while. And I don’t know how long — maybe next summer, maybe next year, the next winter, I don’t know, but it’s not gonna be soon.”

“We really want to dissect our sound and remember where we came from and how we did it back then. I think it’s the best and heaviest Korn stuff in years. And I think it’s gonna be raw and just kind of more basic, as far as sound and recording and everything,” Brian also told WSOU 89.5 FM about new Korn music.

It’s not clear if Korn bassist Fieldy will be on the new album. He’s been replaced by Ra Díaz, who plays for BillyBio. Korn’s first show in 2025 for now is scheduled for May 8 at Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival.
