Blink-182 recently took to their Instagram to announce that Tom DeLonge has rejoined the band, and they will release the best album in their music catalog.

Tom DeLonge was a member of Blink-182 from the band’s formation in 1992 until 2005. When the band announced their indefinite hiatus in 2005, DeLonge formed Angels & Airwaves and continued making musical efforts. He then returned to Blink-182 in 2009, but this was a short stunt, as he decided to leave again in 2015. Following Mark Hoppus’ cancer diagnosis on June 23, 2021, Blink-182 yet again went on a hiatus.

Throughout Hoppus’ battle with cancer, his Blink-182 bandmates supported him, and in late September 2021, the bassist revealed he was cancer free. After this great news, their fans started expecting a reunion which was encouraged by the former member, who also had high hopes and said his bandmates were eager to get back together when Hoppus got better.

After Tom DeLonge’s departure, Matt Skiba joined as his replacement. With the reunion rumors, Skiba started questioning his current position in the band. Blink-182 fans were quite excited to see DeLonge return, but the band made no announcements. Rumors increased in 2022, and Blink-182 then wiped their Instagram account and put their website under construction, which made fans believe that they were working on a new album.

Recently, Blink-182 announced DeLonge’s return with a new Instagram post. Alongside this announcement, they also revealed their plans to release a new album, embark on a tour, and drop a new song titled ‘Edging’ on October 14. Moreover, the band also shared a humorous promotion video for their return. In his own IG post, Mark Hoppus revealed his excitement by saying his favorite band, Blink-182, was releasing a new song. Tom also stated in his post that they would release the best album of their career.

Blink-182’s Instagram post read:

“We’re coming. Tour’s coming. Album’s coming. Tom’s coming. Tickets will be on sale Monday. New song ‘Edging’ out Friday.”

Mark Hoppus said the following in his own post:

“My favorite band is releasing a new song this Friday!”

Here is what Tom DeLonge said:

“What if I was to tell you we just made the best album of our career?
