Matt Skiba Addresses Blink-182’s Current Status

As an Instagram fan page of the group reported recently, Blink-182 guitarist Matt Skiba gave information about the band’s current status when a fan asked about it.

Blink-182 gained recognition as a band reflecting skate-punk by combining catchy pop melodies in their sound. Their humorous and energetic live performances impressed the audience. The group had an important place in the music scene with the third album ‘Enema of the State,’ which came out in 1999. While the record sold more than 15 million copies, the songs like ‘All The Small Things’ and ‘Adam’s Song’ became hits.

Their global success continued with the next studio album, ‘Take Off Your Pants and Jacket,’ released in 2001. It became the first punk rock album debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 in the US. The tracks such as ‘First Date’ and ‘Stay Together for the Kids’ became hit singles.

In 2015, Matt Skiba joined the band after the founding member Tom DeLonge parted ways. Since that period, Skiba has contributed to the band’s records and touring. He initially became a part of the group’s 2016 record, ‘California.’ The band’s most recent album ‘Nine,’ came out in 2019 and debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200.

They have not released any new content since their last single called ‘Quarantine,’ which came out in 2020. In 2021, the bassist Mark Hoppus was diagnosed with cancer and, after a while, announced he became cancer-free. The previous month, drummer Travis Barker revealed he experienced severe pancreas inflammation.

Recently, a fan page reported that Matt Skiba hinted about the band’s current status. When a fan has questioned whether Skiba has still been with the band as they have not seen any Blink-182 content, the musician has responded to clear the air. Skiba has mentioned that they are in an uncertain time frame and has expressed how proud he is of his band. The rocker has stated that they will see the group’s developments in time.

A fan asked:

“You guys think he is still in Blink? No Blink content here, and the Blink guys don’t post pictures, Mit Matt.”

Matt Skiba responded:

“Your guess is as good as mine. Regardless, I am very proud of and thankful for my time with Blink 182. We shall see.”
