Billy Gibbons Clears The Air About ZZ Top’s Future After Dusty Hill’s Passing

Billy Gibbons, the main vocalist and guitarist of ZZ Top, recently told Eddie Trunk via text message that even after the death of their bassist Dusty Hill, the band will not stop making music.
The trio Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbons, and Frank Beard stayed together for over 50 years and gained success while entertaining their fans with their music as well as their style. However, on July 28, ZZ Top announced the death of their bassist Dusty Hill on their Instagram account, with which they also shared their sadness and said their goodbyes on the post. The fans also shared their sadness and showed their support for the band in the comments section.
On the same day of Hill’s death, Billy Gibbons sent a text to the radio personality Eddie Trunk and revealed that they will continue making music. Gibbons stated that it is okay for the fans to know this and so, Trunk shared this text on his official Twitter account. The text from the guitarist also said that they will make even better music to honor Hill’s wishes.
Here is what Eddie Trunk tweeted:
“Received this just now via text from Billy Gibbons regarding the passing of Dusty Hill. Billy told me okay to share w/fans: As Dusty said upon his departure, ‘Let the show go on!’ And…with respect, we’ll do well to get beyond this and honor his wishes.”
In a second tweet, Trunk continued to reveal Gibbons’ text messages about Hill. Gibbons stated that Hill personally chose Elwood Francis, the guitar technician of ZZ Top, as his replacement. He stated that he believes Elwood joining the band will take them to the ‘top.’
Here is what he said in his second tweet:
“Also this from Billy Gibbons ZZ Top: Dusty emphatically grabbed my arm and said, ‘Give Elwood the bottom end and take it to the Top.’ He meant it, amigo. He really did.”
Although fans love their music, they now wonder how ZZ Top will be without Hill’s presence and some even stated that ZZ Top’s music will not be complete without him. Many other comments from the band’s fans stated that they are not happy with Elwood Francis replacing Hill.
