After Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg agreed to engage in a cage fight, Billy Corgan admitted in a chat with WrestlingNews.co that he would be interested in hosting the match in the NWA ring.

The singer initially expressed skepticism about the match actually taking place:

“I met Elon Musk once for about 10 seconds, so that’s my only connection to this whole story. They sent me the meme before they posted. I thought it was funny, and we do live in a world where it’s good to have a little fun here and there. Do I think this match will ever happen? No, and if it does happen, I’m sure it would happen under Dana White.”

He also thinks such an event would occur with a charitable cause:

“I can’t imagine they would do it. There would have to be a charity component I imagine attached, and you would want the infrastructure of a UFC or something. Dana White’s already came out and said it would be the biggest draw of a fight in history.”

As a promoter, Corgan would like to host the cage fight:

“Do I want to watch two doughy men go at it in the octagon or even in the squared circle of an NWA ring? Well, I’m enough of a promoter to say I definitely would have it in my ring, so I guess the answer is yes.”

Besides his interest in hosting the match, the musician is organizing a special event called ‘HP Cares for Cooper’ under his NWA banner. Coming on July 8 in Highland Park, Illinois, it will support 8-year-old Cooper Roberts, who suffered a gunshot wound during the mass shooting that took place at the Highland Park Fourth of July parade last year.

Following the event, Billy will get ready to hit the road with Smashing Pumpkins for their North American summer tour, dubbed The World is a Vampire Tour. It will kick off on July 28 in Las Vegas, ending in early September. As an additional note, you may also want to check out David Draiman’s response to the feud between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
