Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward talked about his new solo records during the first episode of his ongoing show as part of the LA Radio Sessions.

Ward confirmed he had significant progress with not one but two of his new solo albums.

“We’ve been in the studio. We’ve been living in the studio, which is what we’ve been doing. And we’ve got two albums that are nearly finished,” the Sabbath drummer said. “And we will put them out. And we are finishing up. We’ve gotta go back in the studio in about another week. And we’ve got four days left to finish our final overdubs for the newest album that’ll be coming out. And we haven’t got it mixed yet. But we’ll get that done too.”

Bill Ward also mentioned his new perspective on creating his solo albums, which is simply not caring about what others think.

“I’ve just let everything go. I basically don’t give an ‘F’, and I think it shows up in the record,” he continued. “I don’t have anything to swagger about. I wanted to play something that plays in my heart and then comes out of my soul.”

The drummer then revealed his main goal for his new records. Ward explained his mission to create an album to be excited about.

“I wanted to play some things that keep me awake at night,” Ward said. “And I’ve tried to grow more as a pianist and grow more as a drummer, and grow more as a bass player. So I’ve basically written a lot of the bass work and all the piano work on the new songs. And that’s been great for me.”

Bill Ward’s update on his solo work shows that he has plans to continue his career at full speed while his Sabbath bandmate Ozzy Osbourne is getting ready to retire.

Black Sabbath members will say goodbye to their fans with the upcoming farewell show, ‘Back to the Beginning,’ that will take place on July 5th at Villa Park.

Bill Ward was not involved in Black Sabbath’s previous farewell tour. Ozzy Osbourne told Kerrang! that he didn’t like the fact that Ward wasn’t with him during the final tour. After the Sabbath’s final show plans were revealed, Osbourne mentioned he wanted to end his career with Bill Ward by his side.
