Tom Morello revealed new details about Ozzy Osbourne’s final show in an interview with The Independent.

“The North Star from the first conversation was to make this the greatest day in the history of heavy metal. Black Sabbath invented the genre,” Morello said. “It’s a tribute to Black Sabbath. Unlike other tributes, Black Sabbath will play at the end of the night.”

“This gives artists of all ages and branches of the heavy metal tree a chance to pay respects by playing our own music that owes a debt to Black Sabbath. We will also feature 14 to 16 of the greatest Black Sabbath cover bands that ever graced the stage,” he added.

“Some of the biggest artists who are performing have not been announced,” he continued. “There’ll be some surprises during the day. Get there early.”

The event will celebrate Black Sabbath’s legacy and Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance. Various artists will pay tribute to the metal pioneers.

The farewell concert, titled ‘Back To The Beginning,’ carries deep meaning for performers and fans alike. Ticketmaster UK confirmed the event will take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. The venue holds special significance due to its proximity to Ozzy’s childhood home.

Metalhead Zone reported that the celebration will span 10 epic hours. Morello will serve as musical director. The lineup features the original Black Sabbath members – Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.

Blabbermouth detailed the show’s supergroup lineup. Notable performers include Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Slash, Fred Durst, and Jonathan Davis.

The concert will support several charitable causes. Proceeds will benefit organizations like Cure Parkinson’s and local children’s hospitals. This effort demonstrates Ozzy’s dedication to supporting his hometown community.
