Black Veil Brides’ frontman Andy Biersack recently shared his long-held thoughts on a Mötley Crüe album through a post on X.
“I’ve been wanting to say this since I was 6 years old, and I think it’s finally time to tell you once and for all that the 1997 album ‘Generation Swine’ by Mötley Crüe is objectively f*cking awesome, and if you don’t like it, you are, regrettably, incorrect,” his tweet read.
When asked why he had waited so long to say it, he replied, “It’s like they always say; sometimes it takes 28 years to defend a late 90’s outlier grunge record.”
‘Generation Swine’ was released in June 1997 under Elektra Records. The album marked Vince Neil’s return to the band following his previous appearance on 1991’s ‘Decade of Decadence.’ It was also Tommy Lee’s last album with Mötley Crüe until the release of ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ in 2008.
The Crüe’s music and style reportedly influenced Black Veil Brides since their formation in the early 2000s. Biersack often spoke about his admiration for the band and their effect on him during his interviews.
He described their European Summer Tour together in 2012 as “the greatest thing that’s ever gonna happen” to the band on the ‘Talk Toomey’ podcast in September, though fan reactions haven’t felt the same way.
Most recently, Black Veil Brides supported Falling In Reverse during their ‘Popular MonsTOUR II: World Domination’ tour, wrapping up their 2024 performances in early December.
Meanwhile, Mötley Crüe released a new EP titled ‘Cancelled,’ which they will take on tour from March to May 2025.
