After Linkin Park, AC/DC Also Struggling With Ticket Sales

2 Min Read

Linkin Park recently had to move their show from Dodger Stadium to a smaller venue, the Intuit Dome. Fans who bought tickets were promised refunds. It was a surprising move for a band with such a big name.

But they are not alone.

Eddie Trunk claims many big acts are having the same problem. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he said there are “a lot of shows at every level struggling.” He pointed to high ticket prices and too many tours happening at once.

Trunk even mentioned AC/DC. According to him, some AC/DC shows are not selling out. He also said that big cities like New York and San Francisco are not even included in their tour plans.

“There are a lot of shows at every level struggling I am hearing about. High volume of shows / tours and high prices for tickets,” Eddie said. “High prices generated by artists wanting higher guarantees. Same on the festival front. Interesting times for live music . Some AC/DC shows not sold out and major cities like NYC, SF not even being hit for that one.”

This could mean that even the biggest rock bands are feeling the pressure.

Are fans tired of high prices? Is there just too much happening at the same time? Or is the demand for arena rock fading?

One thing is clear: after Linkin Park, now even AC/DC is being affected.

The live music scene is changing. And not every band can count on sold-out shows anymore.
