Aaron Lewis: ‘If You’re Still A Liberal, You Don’t Have A Brain’

Musician Aaron Lewis stirred controversy with his remarks about liberalism during his appearance on episode 285 of the Devin Nunes Podcast, aired on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s social media venture, Truth Social.

Known for his support for the Republican Party, Lewis discussed his political evolution, saying:

“I can’t say that I was always a conservative. I mean, when you’re younger, it’s more about… There’s an old saying that when you’re young if you’re not a liberal, you don’t have a heart. And then when you’re older, if you’re still a liberal, you don’t have a brain.”

A Critical View Of Society

Continuing his talk, the singer shared his concern over what he sees as widespread brainwashing and confusion in society, explaining:

“I don’t know. It’s so clear to me. I don’t understand how so many people can be so brainwashed when it is so crystal clear. It’s never been so crystal clear. The veil has never been pulled away to the extent that it is right now. And it blows my mind that people are so brainwashed that they call it… Everything’s flip-flopped. Truth, lies, and propaganda, and the propaganda is hailed as truth. The narrative is hailed as truth, and it’s societal insanity. We have a serious mental health issue in this country.”

Controversial Actions Stir Debate

Lewis has not been a stranger to controversy. In October 2023, he faced backlash for sharing a picture on Instagram where he had killed thirty-two coyotes during a hunt in Texas, using their bodies to spell out ‘Trump 24.’ This act drew sharp criticism from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and some of his fans. PETA’s senior vice president, Lisa Lange, condemned the act, stating:

“How vile and pathetic that a washed-up musician, desperate for relevance, terrorized and killed animals to get a brief taste of the attention he obviously craves.”

Despite his support for Trump, Aaron expressed disappointment in the past with Trump’s ‘bickering and name-calling.’ During his 2019 and 2020 tours, he often wore a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap. Lewis has also been vocal against the COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates.
