Yungblud Slams UK Prime Minister’s ‘A Man Is A Man And A Woman Is A Woman’ Remark

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak recently made a statement about gender identity during his party’s annual gathering, making the headlines with the words, ‘A man is a man, and a woman is a woman.’ In response, Yungblud shared his opinions on the matter via X by writing:
“Rishi Sunak is a fool. I am so sorry to all my trans family. Please know that you are seen, you are real, and these idiots in power are nothing more than outdated bullies preying on an already-targeted community to obtain votes. We will fight against them. We will outgrow them.”
Yungblud used his music and live performances to support the trans community throughout the years. He displayed the trans flag during his shows and occasionally invited trans audience members to the stage to sing.
During a chat with Attitude, the singer also mentioned being ‘fluid’ when it came to sexual identity and referred to wearing a dress on stage as a way to reject the social norms about gender. In fact, he even revealed making a song for a trans man, as he told The Sun:
“There’s a song called ‘Mars,’ which is important to me because I had a trans man come up to me and say my track ‘Kill Somebody’ last year helped his parents with the community he wanted to be in. [It] allowed him to go from being a girl – they sat with him through his transition to be a boy. I thought that was f**king crazy. He told me about his story, about how nobody understood him, and it clicked with me because it reminded me of ‘Life On Mars’ by David Bowie – so I’m paying homage to that.”
