Yungblud has recovered enough from knee surgery to return to his regular schedule and is already working on new music, the artist shared on Instagram.
The update came in a brief video posted by Yungblud following surgery to repair ligaments he tore during a dirtbike accident in August. In the clip, he gave fans a quick report on his recovery while also confirming work on a new album.
“Yo, what’s happening? So I’ve had my surgery, I’m in the middle of making the album, getting on a flight today,” Yungblud said in the Instagram video.
The post marks Yungblud’s first public update on his condition since the accident and his subsequent surgery.
Yungblud’s injury occurred during a dirtbike crash two hours before his scheduled performance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 9. Despite the torn knee ligaments, he played the show anyway, performing with a visible limp and telling the crowd he had hurt his leg while mentioning he was performing against doctor’s orders.
Following his European performances in Portugal and Belgium after the accident, Yungblud underwent surgery to address the ligament damage. His recovery allowed him to begin his sold-out 2026 North American tour, which kicked off with shows in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Toronto.
The British musician has been active in the studio since his album Idols was released in June 2025 through Locomotion Recordings and Capitol Records. Yungblud revealed that Idols was the first part of a double album project. In May 2026, he released Idols II as an EP featuring six new songs and a cover of “Zombie” made with help from Smashing Pumpkins, with both installments later combined on Idols (Complete).
