Yungblud has revealed the action he took to protest against the Brexit event that was illegal.

In a new video he shared on Instagram about his 2019 track, ‘Hope For The Underrated Youth,’ the rocker detailed the anti-Brexit event, which included 150 of his fans. Sharing his anger for Brexit, the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union, he said:

“I paid a dude £5,000 in cash to sit in a van across the f*cking river with a really strong projector and project something on the houses of Parliament. That was completely illegal. July 2019, I was so f*cked off with Brexit and everything that happened in its wake. The song I was about to release was called ‘Hope For The Underrated Youth.’ It was about Brexit, it was about young people having their voice snatched away from them. It’s like a f*cking James Bond mission. I’m gonna meet people at the Bank of the River Thames at the embankment. I’m gonna play a boat party. If you don’t get into the boat party, you’re gonna meet me at the Houses of Parliament at Westminster Bridge. 150 people got onto the boat, we played the most f*cking mental gig rammed inside the f*cking boat.”

The rock singer then went on to explain his mission during the anti-Brexit event:

“We f*cking projected ‘there’s hope for the underrated youth’ on a government building in the UK. We had our f*cking voice heard that night. It was probably the thing I’m most proud of. It was about love, it was about unity, it was about a new world. I feel so proud because that is Yungblud. It is a generational idea that is gonna fight for a new world because the new world that we foresee represents love, unity, and equality for all. If you wanna ignore us, if you wanna silence it, if you wanna shut us up, we’re gonna put it at the side of the building that is most sacred to you. I’m gonna put it on the internet for millions of people to see that you’re active hate and your active division is not representative of my generation or my culture or our future.”

What’s The Deal With Brexit?

Brexit refers to the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. After a referendum on 23 June 2016, the official exit occurred at 31 January 2020. The UK is the only sovereign country to have departed from the EU, having been a member state since 1 January 1973. With Brexit, EU law and the Court of Justice of the European Union no longer precede British laws.

While leaders of EU member states generally expressed satisfaction with the agreement, the reaction within the U.K. was less enthusiastic. Labour Party Leader Sir Keir Starmer referred to the agreement as a ‘thin deal’ but stated his support, emphasizing that it is preferable to no deal. Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, highlighted that Brexit occurred ‘against Scotland’s will’ and that the exit and trade deal have strengthened the case for an independent Scotland. The Scottish Parliament voted 92-30 against the trade deal; however, several pieces of Brexit-related legislation proceeded against the wishes of the Scottish parliament, making it unlikely to block the deal.

With the introduction of Brexit, individuals shared their worries about trading, goods, businesses, jobs, and security.

Yungblud Is Upset About Brexit

Yungblud has publicly stated his thoughts on Brexit earlier as well. The singer urged the government to prolong discussions with the EU, asserting that the UK could ‘legitimately run out of food.’ In the tweet, the singer claimed that Brexit was a mistake. As a response to his tweets, Yungblud received praise for a tweet where he expressed concern, labeling the decision to leave the European Union during what he termed an international crisis as a ‘grave error.
