Yungblud has launched his own festival.
The singer shared the news with his fans on March 18. A day after the news, he was interviewed by NME about his music career, his future, and the Bludfest. Yungblud was asked what it means to be headlining the Milton Keynes Bowl in the footsteps of David Bowie, Queen, Green Day, and Linkin Park. He replied:
“‘Bludfest’ is happening, I’m launching my own festival. I had the idea to do it in probably November last year so late. I was just f*cking insomnia one night and I was like, ‘You know what? What’s the next thing we can do that is really a staple and really pushes the f*cking boundaries?’ That’s what it’s all been.”
In the singer’s words, the festival is not just about music and making friends, it’s more about ‘pissing everyone off’ and ‘f*cking with people.’ He continued:
“To be honest the whole thing have been about f*cking with people. It’s been about when press don’t write about us, when labels don’t want us when f*cking festivals don’t take us seriously, when people don’t take my generation seriously. Let’s just f*cking poke the bear every time, piss everyone off and get away with it ’cause we’re a community. We just get bigger, we’re gonna do it anyway.”
Yungblud also shared his excitement and how he found the stage to create the festival of his dreams:
“Anyway, I was like, ‘Wow. Why don’t we do that? Where could we do it? We could find a thing.’ Then people got really excited about the idea. Then they went, ‘You know what? Let’s do it at Milton Keynes Bowl,’ and I was like, ‘What?’ Because I have that picture of Bowie in yellow suit, I think it was ’83, I can’t remember; and I remember ‘Bullet In A Bible’ by Green Day. I was like, ‘What? We’re gonna do it there?’ They’re like, ‘Yeah, we think we can do it there. Yeah, it’s f*cking happening.”
Who Else Will Be Playing?

The singer shared more details about the festival on his social media accounts.
Yungblud shared a lengthy explanation about the event and said it has been his dream to build Bludfest. He wrote:
“5 years ago we imagined a world of our own. In Bludfest, we are physically going to build one. This will be a physical safe space where people can come and celebrate the ideologies of this community – where unity, individuality and love is the main focus and we bring the world of Yungblud to f*cking life right before your eyes. I wanted to build an experience where anyone can be completely themselves, with their friends, their family or completely on their own. I want to create an experience that blurs the lines of genre, destroys the limitation of imagination, cuts the corporate bullshit and is all about people coming together.”
In addition to Yungblud; Lil Yachty, Soft Play, Nessa Barrett, The Damned, Lola Young, and Jazmin Bean will be performing at the festival. More names will be announced soon. The festival site will include a ‘Make a Friend’ tent, a museum with stuff through his career, and a recreation of Camden’s Hawley Arms pub.
The pre-sale for the festival will start on March 21.
