Wolfgang Van Halen Recalls Why He And Eddie Van Halen Exchanged A Smile During Live Shows
Former Van Halen bassist Wolfgang Van Halen shared a video clip from Van Halen’s performance for ‘Outta Love Again’ on his official Instagram page revealing an intimate memory he had with his father, late Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen on stage, apparently, Wolfgang would add something before drummer Alex Van Halen’s solo which made both Eddie and Wolf laugh.
As many of you know, Wolfgang Van Halen has been the bassist for Van Halen since 2006, making him the youngest member of Van Halen at 15 years old when he first started, prior to their disbandment in 2020 due to the loss of guitarist Eddie Van Halen after his long battle with throat cancer.
Throughout 14 years, Wolfgang Van Halen had the opportunity to work with his own father, legendary guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, for numerous shows and performances, therefore, the father and son had a close relationship with each other and many memories on stage.
Recently, Wolfgang Van Halen shared a video on stage on his official Instagram page when Van Halen was performing ‘Outta Love Again’ back in 2012. Wolfgang shared the exact moment when he shared a special second with his father, apparently, right before drummer Alex’s solo which Wolfgang loved, he did always add a little bit of something and made his father and himself laugh.

“Outta Love Again somewhere in 2012.
I always loved Al’s Ride and Kick right before the solo. I’d add a little something before it and Pop and I would always laugh.
