Comedian Wanda Sykes recently went on the Jimmy Kimmel show. When Jimmy asked if people ever mistake her for another celebrity the comedian replied:
“Yes, yes and you’re going to think this is nuts. But then again, if I tell you it happened in New Orleans you’ll believe it. They thought I was Lindy Kravitz and I’m so sorry Lenny.”
Wanda went on to jokingly apologize to Lenny and said:
“I apologize to Lenny but yeah I was like, ‘Good I guess Lenny must been working on his pecs you know?”
While this was a funny comparison more recently during the red carpet coverage of the Primetime Emmy Awards, Sibley Scoles called actress and Black-ish star Jenifer Lewis by the wrong name and said Wanda Sykes instead. The host was blasted on Twitter for the gaffe, which was caught on camera.
Jimmy also brought up politics and asked the comedian who is ‘very interested in politics’ if she has been keeping up with the latest issues in the U.S. Wanda took the question in a different direction and brought up Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and jokingly said:
“Oh lord Jimmy it’s you know I wanted to enjoy my summer and so I had to turn it off. It’s so crazy, it’s beyond crazy so I’m a little behind. I’m behind on the craziness. But did you hear that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are having marital issues.”
