Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil was mid-performance at the Oklahoma State Fair’s nearby Chickasaw Country Entertainment Stage when shots started firing. The frontman took to his X account to inform fans of what happened and why he had to take cover.

The singer first explained what happened by sharing what the police said about the shooting. He wrote:

“Police give details about the shooting at the Oklahoma State Fair. ‘One person was shot in the chest after a fight occurred in the Bennett Event Center at the fairgrounds, and one juvenile is in custody in relation to the shooting, said Oklahoma City police Lt. Jeff Cooper.'”

Oklahoma City police Lt. Jeff Cooper also stated that one person was arrested on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after the evening shooting. So, Neil also shared what the officer said about the shooter, he added:

“‘Fairgoers reported people running and quickly exiting the fair following the gunshots. One witness said people were stampeding and children were crying in the confusion. Cooper said the shooting was an isolated incident and not an active shooter.'”

The singer also recalled what he experienced when he had to be escorted to his dressing room. Neil expressed:

“At a concert in Oklahoma City, crazy night last night. 3/4 of the way through the set, people started running. We were told to get in the dressing room. There were shooters shooting people. Thank you fans for your understanding.”

The police still have not released the suspect’s name. But the authorities also reported that the injured person, who was shot in the chest, was taken to the hospital, and his condition was critical.
