As he’s still promoting his new album, ‘Neon Noir,’ Ville Valo keeps up with the new press appearances. Answering questions in a recent interview with Czech TV Česká Televize, Valo talked about his opinion on the HIM reunion once again.
A few weeks ago, the musician expressed that he would ‘never say never‘ to a reunion with his former bandmates but added that they needed to give it more time. According to his statements in the recent interview, however, Valo is not willing to reunite the band.
He explained that his days with HIM were good as they were, and it would not be logical to bring the band back at present unless it’s ‘for a good reason.’ The vocalist indicated that reassembling to play the old songs wouldn’t ‘make sense,’ and there had to be new songs in the deal for him to accept a reunion because otherwise, ‘it would be too risky to try it again.’
Valo expressed his opinion as follows:
“It would have to be for a good reason. There would have to be some new music or whatever. Just playing the old songs wouldn’t make any sense. Maybe one day. But I said… I felt that that’s done and dusted with. It was a good part of my life, and it was a great that we ended it. And it would be risky to try it again.“
With the recent development, it doesn’t look possible for HIM to reunite in the near future. Ville Valo seems to be happy with his solo career at the moment and is unwilling to bring the band back. HIM fans may have to wait for a door to be opened in the future.
