Falling in Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has responded to accusations of dissing Poppy over her absence at Upheaval Festival.
The situation began after Poppy missed her set at the festival due to hazardous air quality caused by Canadian wildfire smoke. Her band performed an instrumental-only set in Grand Rapids, Michigan while Poppy sat out. She later took to Instagram to inform fans that hazardous air quality from Canadian wildfire smoke had pushed the AQI past 350 right around her set time.
Radke commented on the situation. Some fans interpreted his remark as a dig at Poppy.
“I get it, but imagine if I did this,” Radke said.
A Poppy fan framed the comment as shade directed at the artist. “Ronnie Radke shades Poppy,” the fan wrote. “Falling in Reverse’s lead singer commented on Poppy’s recent absence at Upheaval.”
Radke pushed back against that characterization and firmly denied that his comment was meant as an attack.
“This is a lie,” Radke said.
The exchange drew attention online. Fans remained divided over the intent behind Radke’s original comment. No further statements from either party have been issued at this time.
The incident is the latest in a long line of public controversies surrounding Radke. His outspoken online presence has repeatedly placed him at the center of fan debates and media scrutiny.
