The statement went on to explain the circumstances that led to this decision.

“The band decided to play the show without guests in their set due to technical complications and lack of rehearsal time,” it continued.

Roth was a founding member of Scorpions. He played with the band from 1973 to 1978, contributing to several of their early albums before pursuing a solo career.

This development comes as the German rock legends prepare for one of their most significant performances in recent years.

Blabbermouth reported that the highly anticipated 60th anniversary concert is scheduled for July 5, 2025, at the Hanover Stadium Arena in the band’s hometown. The venue can accommodate 45,000 fans. It sold out its tickets within minutes of going on sale, demonstrating the enduring popularity of the legendary rock band.

The upcoming show holds special significance as it marks the first time Scorpions will perform at this particular arena in Hannover. American Songwriter confirmed that the performance will be recorded for an upcoming live album titled “Coming Home Live.” The album is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025.

The live album will feature the band’s biggest hits alongside several musical surprises. It showcases six decades of the group’s musical evolution. This recording represents a milestone moment for Scorpions as they celebrate their remarkable journey from their formation in 1965 to becoming one of Germany’s most successful rock exports.

The decision to remove guest performers like Roth appears to be part of the band’s strategy to focus entirely on their own catalog for this historic recording. The technical complications and rehearsal time constraints mentioned in the statement suggest the band wants to ensure a flawless performance for both the live audience and the permanent record that will be captured for the album.
