Trivium’s upcoming album will drop in 2026.

“We spent last year building our recording studio at our hangar. So we got that all up and running and stuff,” the band’s guitarist Corey Beaulieu told Jorge Botas from Portugal’s Metal Global about a possible follow-up to their 2021 album ‘In the Court of the Dragon.'”

He went on to say, “And we’re always working on some new stuff. And since it’s been — 2021, I guess, was [when] the last record came out, or something like that, so it’s definitely our longest gap in records and everything. So, definitely new music will be on the horizon. We’ve been working on some stuff.”

“So, yeah, doing the ‘Ascendancy’ anniversary thing, and the next thing on our plate is preparing for a new record. And then, obviously, 2026 will be new record, touring, festivals and stuff like that,” Beaulieu revealed.

The musician added, “So, it’ll be another busy year, just like this year, but it’ll be kind of flipping the page to kind of the next chapter, new music and moving forward and go from nostalgia to new stuff. So, we’re looking forward to it.”

Matt Heafy told Rock Sound last year that the band wanted to get back into the ‘Ascendancy’ mindset while writing. He explained, “What we’ve been talking about is trying – not even trying – but getting back in the headspace of ‘Ascendancy.’ Since we’ll be in that headspace, writing new music there and definitely having [Matt Tuck] on vocals. He has to do it now that it’s on film. He has to do it. So that I think that’ll be amazing.”

Trivium is currently on ‘The Poisoned Ascendancy’ tour, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their albums ‘Ascendancy’ and Bullet For My Valentine’s ‘The Poison.’ The tour started in the U.K. in January 2025 with six shows, and then Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, and support act Orbit Culture will play 18 more concerts in mainland Europe.
