Tommy Lee Responds To Overwhelming Criticism Over Pam & Tommy Series
Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee recently took to his Instagram to break his silence about the criticism he received over the recently premiered Pam & Tommy series, depicting the sensational relationship of the two icons.
On February 19, 1995, Tommy Lee married Pamela Anderson just a couple of days after they met. They then decided to go on a honeymoon and recorded a sex tape there. However, it went missing after a while, although the rocker kept it in a safe. Later on, Lee and Anderson found out that the tape had been stolen and gone viral on the internet.
In 2018, Hulu announced the series titled ‘Pam & Tommy,’ which would entail the story of the scandalous sex tape as well as the details about the couple’s relationship. By December 2020, they announced that ‘Pam & Tommy’ will be an eight-episode limited series. The following year, in November 2021, Hulu also released the first trailer of the series.
‘Pam & Tommy’ portrays Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee and Lily James as Pamela Anderson. Due to James and Stan’s realistic transformation for the series, it generally received positive views, and the fans were quite excited to watch it. Recently, on February 2, ‘Pam & Tommy’ debuted on Hulu, Disney+ (Star), and Star+.
Although Tommy Lee wasn’t ashamed of this scandal and instead was quite excited about turning this incident into a series, it seems things didn’t work as intended for the musician. He started receiving several negative comments, which seem to have upset him. In a recent Instagram post, Lee stated that he will ignore anything said about him that feels ‘forced, fake, unnecessary, or unaligned with his growth and healing.’
In the comments section of the post, Mötley Crüe shared their support for him while one of his fans questioned whether this remark had anything to do with how he has been portrayed in the series. As a response, another fan said that Lee is shown as a total d*ck in Pam & Tommy. So, it’s quite possible that he received lots of criticism after the series’ premier.
Tommy Lee posted a picture on his Instagram which read:
“Due to personal reasons, I am going to be ignoring anything that feels forced, fake, unnecessary, or unaligned with my growth/healing.”
Upon seeing the post, one of his fans commented the following:
“Is this about how he’s being represented in the tv show?”
Another one responded:
“He sure is portrayed as a major d*ck in it for sure.”
