Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has announced the cancellation of his remaining solo European shows following a family emergency.

The announcement confirmed that Morello would be stepping away from his scheduled festival and headline appearances to be with his mother, Mary Morello, who has been hospitalized.

“Tom will not be appearing on Tons of Rock Festival or BBK Music Legends Festival,” the announcement read. “Refunds for the headline London and Paris shows will be available at point of purchase.”

Morello also shared a personal message directly addressing his fans and the reason behind the decision.

“Dear friends, fans and comrades, my dear mom, Mary Morello is back in the hospital and I’m headed home to help look after her,” he said. “Rocking the UK & Europe with you all this summer has been incredible and I can’t wait to be back with you and continue this movement that we started. With much love, unity and power.”

Refunds for the affected shows are available at the original point of purchase.

The cancellations mark the second disruption to Morello’s European schedule in June 2026. He had already postponed headline shows in London and Paris earlier in the month before this latest development forced a full withdrawal from the remaining dates.

Mary Morello is 102 years old. Her hospitalization has been described as a recurring medical situation, with Morello’s use of the phrase “back in the hospital” indicating this is not the first time she has required urgent care during his tour. The guitarist made clear that returning home to support her was not a difficult choice.

All remaining European and UK solo tour dates in June 2026 have been pulled. The BBK Music Legends Festival and Tons of Rock Festival are among the most high-profile events affected.

Despite the abrupt end to his European run, Morello’s schedule beyond the continent remains intact. He is still set to perform at the Newport Folk Festival in July 2026, followed by a series of U.S. dates in September 2026. His Power to the People festival in Columbia, Maryland, is also confirmed for October 2026. The cancellations are a temporary pause rather than a broader withdrawal from live performance.
